Corporate volunteer days at Avalon Centre are a powerful way for teams to connect, give back, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people doing it tough. Whether you’re helping sorting donations, organising food boxes, or assisting with community outreach, every hour spent with us goes directly toward meeting unmet needs.
We welcome corporate teams of all sizes and tailor the day to suit your group’s interests, skills and energy.
What your day looks like
Our volunteer days are relaxed, hands-on and full of heart. You’ll be guided by our team and experience the real impact of Avalon’s work. Here’s an example of a typical corporate volunteer day at Avalon. Activities and timings may vary depending on what’s needed on the day.
- 9:30am – Arrive at Avalon
Meet Deborah, our Founder, for a warm welcome and a quick introduction to the Avalon story. - 9:45am – Settle in with a cuppa
Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, meet your guide for the day, and get ready to jump into meaningful tasks. - 10:00am – Get stuck in!
Your team will be supported throughout the day as you help where it’s needed most—sorting donations, organising items, preparing care packs, assisting in our storage warehouse, or helping with general operations. - 12:00pm – Lunch break
Take some time out together to rest and recharge. - 1:00pm – Back into action
Continue your activities or try something new as tasks shift throughout the afternoon. - 4:00pm – Wrap up & celebration
We finish the day with a heartfelt thank you and a group photo to capture your contribution.
There’s no cost to volunteer
Unlike many corporate volunteer programs, Avalon Centre does not charge a fee for participation. We simply appreciate your time, energy and willingness to help. If your organisation would like to make a donation, it is always welcomed and directly supports our work with people experiencing homelessness, hardship and crisis.
